DALLAS –  Art Crime Scene Incident #: 0286217-X, an interactive experience created by vandals and presented by a group of mixed media artists, filmmakers and criminal specialists will be on exhibit Saturday, November 20, 2010 from 12pm-6pm at CorinthPark located at 1837 Corinth Street, Dallas, TX 75215. Admission to the show is free and the art is open to the public for viewing for one day onlyin conjunction with the eighth annual Cedars Open Studios Tour.

Based on evidence and the actual police report, this gallery presentation combines video imagery to interpret the path of destruction along with the subsequent ‘art’ created as a result of catastrophic damage to the venue. The social and capitalistic graffiti, left by the perpetrators across the now defaced murals within the artist's compound, ultimately serves as commentary to heighten awareness of attempts to destroy initiatives on behalf of emerging artists. And the price one is willing to pay to support them.

Sarah Jane Semrad, La Reunion TX co-founder and CorinthPark project advisorremarked “I was particularly interested in the recent vandalizing events at the space.  The conversation between the graffiti and the graffiti-ing of the graffiti is particularly fascinating.  Conspirators lurch in every direction - from the graffiti artists to the cops who fingerprinted the place to the intruder him (or her) self.  Inherent questions about value and art and vandalism in all its forms abound. I certainly do not condone the vandal's actions and the destruction of property or art, but I appreciate the questions this series of events has caused us all to ask.”

The goal of CorinthPark is to give local Dallas artists an alternative art venue to use for freedom of expression without the boundaries of a formal gallery setting.

The show will be presented by co-curators and producers Elias Taylorson and Herschel Alan Weisfeld and CorinthPark Advisors Sarah Jane Semrad, Nicole Cullum Horn and Scott Horn.
